Pinpoint Test At: DTC U0100:00
- AT1 VERIFY THAT THE SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATES WITH THE PCM
- Ignition ON.
- Connect a scan tool.
- Check that a vehicle session can be established using a scan tool.
- Can a vehicle session be established?
- Yes : GO to AT2.
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- AT2 CHECK THE IPC CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTCs
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the self-test.
- Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again?
- Yes : GO to AT3.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AT3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS or SECTION 3: SYMPTOM CHARTS .
- No : GO to AT4.
- AT4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AX .
For DTC U3006:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BI .
For DTC U3006:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .
- No : GO to AT5.
- AT5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Are any DTCs present?
- Yes : REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
