Roof Opening Panel Motor Block and Drive Tube Assembly - Sliding Front Panel: Removal

NOTE:
The gearing on the shade motor (inner motor) is different than the sliding glass motor (outer motor). If the shade motor or the sliding glass motor is installed in the incorrect location, the sunshade and/or glass panel travel distance will be affected and damage to some of the components may result.
NOTE:
If required, there is a special service replacement fastener available if a screw hole becomes stripped during installation. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL - EXPLODED VIEW .
NOTE:
Some views in this procedure are shown from the LH side, RH side is similar.
- Remove the roof opening sliding glass panel. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS - FRONT SLIDING .
- Remove the front and rear shade assemblies. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR - SHADE .
- Remove the roof opening panel shade motor. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR - SHADE .
- Remove the roof opening sliding glass panel motor. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR - SLIDING FRONT PANEL .
- Manually move the sliding front glass rail assembly slides and shade mechanisms rearward.

NOTE: Make note of all the cable wrap locations, they must be reinstalled at the exact same locations.NOTE: Motors shown for reference only.
Cut cable wraps to the motor block and drive tube assembly and wiring harness.
- Remove the front drive tube bracket-to-roof rail assembly front track screws.

NOTE: Carefully mark the location of each roof rail assembly front track in 3 places before removing any fasteners. The roof rail assembly front tracks must be installed in exactly the same position.
Remove the LH and RH rear 12 roof rail assembly front-to-roof opening panel frame screws.
- Remove the LH and RH rear drive tube bracket-to-roof opening panel frame screws.

NOTE: Carefully mark the location of each shade track in 3 places before removing any fasteners. The shade tracks must be installed in exactly the same position.NOTE: Support the shade track and shade motor block and tube assembly.
Remove the LH and RH 6 rear shade track-to-roof opening panel frame screws.

NOTE: Protect the vehicle interior from cable grease.
Carefully pull the sliding glass front drive tube brackets out of the roof rail assembly front tracks.

NOTE: It is only necessary to pull the mechanisms halfway out of the roof rail assembly front tracks to disengage the cables. If the mechanisms are completely removed from the roof rail assembly front track, they will need to be reassembled first. For additional information, refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL - EXPLODED VIEW .
With the rear of the roof rail assembly front tracks lowered, carefully pull the front sliding glass mechanisms halfway out of the roof rail assembly front tracks to disconnect the drive cables and remove the motor block and tube assembly.
