Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

Rear transmission fluid cooler tubes 

  1. Inspect the rear transmission fluid cooler tube backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary. Lubricate the transmission fluid cooler tube seals with clean transmission fluid and install the backing rings and seals on the rear transmission fluid cooler tubes.
    1. Seal (7D258)
    2. Backing ring (7J324)

    • Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

    • Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  6. Inspect the rear transmission fluid cooler tube assembly backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary. Lubricate the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly seals with clean transmission fluid and install the backing rings and seals on the rear transmission fluid cooler tube assembly.
    1. Seal (7D258)
    2. Backing ring (7J324)

  8. Install a new bolt.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  12. Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .

    Front transmission fluid cooler tubes 

  13. Install the front transmission fluid cooler tube assembly.
  14. Install the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to ENGINE COOLING .

    • Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

    All transmission fluid cooler tubes 

  26. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
  27. Install the air cleaner. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
  28. Fill the transmission with fluid and verify correct operation. Refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 6F35 .
