Removal and Installation

Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
Remove the nut and position the EVAP canister purge valve aside.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Disconnect the wire retainers and position aside the engine wire harness.
NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plug and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plug.

Disconnect the 4 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

Remove the 4 bolts and the 4 ignition coil-on-plugs.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
Inspect the coil boots for rips, nicks or tears. Remove and discard any damaged coil boots.
- To install, slide the new coil boot onto the coil until it is fully seated at the top of the coil.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply a small amount of silicone brake caliper grease and dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots before installation.
