With Intelligent Access (IA)

The RKE system uses an IA key. The IA key incorporates both the PATS and the RKE transmitter functions in a single device.
The RKE transmitter is programmed automatically during IA key programming. During IA key programming, the RFA module obtains the TIC from the IA key.
The RFA module accepts programming of up to 4 IA keys. Refer to the key programming procedures in ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) for key programming information.
The IA key initiates the following electronic system functions:
- Unlocks the LH front door
- Unlocks all doors
- Locks all doors
- Opens the power liftgate
- Activates/deactivates the panic alarm
- Commands the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
- Provides a long flash of the turn signals when unlock is pressed
- Recalls the memory seat position associated with a particular remote entry device (when enabled)
- Remotely start the engine
- Sounds the horn once when lock is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and the doors are closed
- Sounds the horn twice when lock is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and any door or liftgate is ajar
The RKE transmitter in the IA key has a normal operating range of at least 20 m (66 ft).
