Symptom Chart

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The engine only starts with the key in the backup slot and no DTCs present
  • IA  key battery
  • IA  programming
  • ATTEMPT to start the engine using two different IA  keys, using one at a time. Place an IA  key on top of the center console and push the start/stop switch and brake.
  • If the engine starts with only one of the keys on top of the center console, INSTALL a new battery in the inoperative IA  key.
  • If the engine does not start with either key on top of the center console, ENABLE the IA  feature with a scan tool. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  • The vehicle does not start with the Intelligent Access (IA) key in certain areas within the vehicle
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Front passive start antenna
  • Center passive start antenna
  • Rear passive start antenna
  • RFA  module
  • The engine does not start/unable to transition the ignition out of OFF
  • Starting system concern
  • Driveability concern
  • Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) concern
  • NO KEY DETECTED is displayed in the message center
  • Environmental interference
  • IA  key
  • IA  key battery
  • IA  key not programmed
