Backup Starting: Notes

The backup starting slot is located in the floor console storage bin. This slot allows the IA key to be placed in close proximity to the backup transceiver for engine starting purposes. If the battery in the IA key is low or if there is excessive radio frequency interference, the NO KEY DETECTED message displays in the message center when the start/stop switch is pressed. To start the engine in the event of either of these 2 concerns, place the IA key in the backup transceiver slot and attempt to start the engine.
