Seat - Front: Removal

WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on airbag, Safety Canopy or side air curtain assemblies. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these assemblies, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
NOTE: The airbag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
  1. Position the seat to access all seat track-to-floor bolts and safety belt retractor belt anchor nut.
    • To aid service on a power seat, raise the seat track to its highest point.
  2. Depower the SRS  . Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
  3. Carefully pull up and out to remove the safety belt retractor belt anchor nut cover from the cushion side shield for access to the safety belt retractor belt anchor nut.
  4. Remove the safety belt anchor nut and separate the safety belt anchor from the seat.
  5. Pull forward and remove the 2 seat track-to-floor front bolt covers.
  6. Remove the 2 seat track-to-floor rear bolt covers in the following sequence.
    1. Push the seat track-to-floor rear bolt cover forward.
    2. Lift to disengage the tab at the front of the seat track-to-floor rear bolt cover.
    3. Slide back and remove the seat track-to-floor rear bolt cover.
      • Repeat for the other side.
  7. Remove the 4 seat track-to-floor bolts.
  8. Tip the seat back and disconnect the seat electrical connectors.
  9. WARNING: Use care when handling the front passenger seat and track assembly. Dropping the assembly, placing excessive weight on or sitting on a front passenger seat that is not secured in the vehicle may result in damaged seat components. Failure to follow these instructions may result in incorrect operation of the occupant classification system (OCS) and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
    NOTE: Use care when handling the driver seat and track assembly. Dropping the assembly or sitting on a seat not secured in the vehicle may result in damaged components.

    Remove the seat from the vehicle.
