Pinpoint Test AJ: The Shift To Park Message Is Inoperative/Always On

AJ1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
- Ignition ON.
- Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.
  Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR?
  - Yes : GO to AJ2.
  - No : INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
AJ2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded DTCs from the IPC self-test.
  Is DTC U0140:00 recorded?
  - Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST AU .
  - No : GO to AJ3.
AJ3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded DTCs from the BCM self-test.
  Are any DTCs recorded?
  - Yes : REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
  - No : GO to AJ4.
AJ4 CHECK THE PRNDL PARK (P) OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Ignition ON.
- Shift the vehicle in and out of PARK (P) while monitoring the PRNDL P indication.
  Does the PRNDL display P with the shifter in PARK (P) and turn off when the shifter is out of PARK (P)?
  - Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST V .
  - No : INSTALL a new BCM . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
