Side Airbag: Installation

NOTE: The CPA clip must be in the released position before installing the connector. Failure to have the CPA clip in the released position may break the tabs causing DTCs to set in the RCM .

With the CPA clip released, install the side air bag module electrical connector fully into the side air bag module, then seat the CPA clip.

NOTE: Make sure the side air bag module wiring harness is not pinched between the side air bag module and the backrest frame. Damage to wire harness may occur.

NOTE: Install new bolts when installing the side air bag module.

Position the side air bag module in the seat backrest and install 2 new bolts.
- Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
Engage the backrest cover outboard J-clip.
Install the backrest trim panel.
Repower the SRS . For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
