PINPOINT TEST AH: DTCs B00A0:54, B00A0:76, B00C2:49 AND B00C3:49

NOTE: Only disconnect or reconnect Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) components when instructed to do so within a pinpoint test step. Failure to follow this instruction may result in incorrect diagnosis of the SRS .

NOTE: Always make sure the correct SRS component is being installed. Parts released for other vehicles may not be compatible even if they appear physically similar. Check the part number listed in the Ford Catalog Advantage™ to make sure the correct component is being installed. If an incorrect SRS component is installed, DTCs may set.

NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

AH1 CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL OCS DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - OCSM .
Were any DTCs other than B00A0:54, B00A0:76, B00C2:49 or B00C3:49 retrieved during the self-test?
- Yes : REPAIR the DTCs before continuing with this test. REFER to the OCSM DTC CHART .
- No : GO to AH2 .

AH2 CHECK THE SEAT WIRING AND CONNECTORS

Ignition OFF.
WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
Carry out a thorough inspection of the OCS wiring, terminals and connectors and the related seat wiring harness and body wiring harness terminals and connectors. Inspect the passenger seat wire harness for correct routing and retention. Refer to SEAT WIRE HARNESS ROUTING -- FRONT PASSENGER CUSHION .
NOTE: The OCS weight sensor bolts do not have differently keyed connectors. Connecting the incorrect connector to a sensor will cause DTCs to set.
Use the wire colors identified in the SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM for correct weight sensor bolt connection.
Using the illustration and list, confirm that the sensors are connected correctly. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM for schematic and connector information.

OCS Weight Sensor Bolt Location

OCS weight sensor bolt "C" is located at the rear of the inboard seat track.

OCS weight sensor bolt "D" is located at the front of the inboard seat track.

Were any problems noted?

Yes : REPAIR the seat connectors and wiring as needed.
Refer to OEM CONNECTOR REPAIR PROCEDURES for schematic and connector information.

REFER to SEATING for wire harness routing information. CARRY OUT the OCS Reset. REFER to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS) SYSTEM RESET . GO to AH4.
No : GO to AH3 .

AH3 CHECK THE SEAT TRACK
NOTE: Check for a bent or binding seat track assembly. Position the seat in all positions and check for correct operation after installation of the seat into the vehicle. Failure to follow this instruction may result in an unsuccessful system reset and incorrect operation of the OCS .

NOTE: The passenger seat bolts must be tightened to the correct specifications and in the correct sequence. Refer to SEAT SYSTEM - SEATS - Front in Removal and Installation for the correct sequence. Failure to follow this instruction may result in an unsuccessful system reset and incorrect operation of the OCS .
- For vehicles with a manual seat, adjust the seat position to the full forward position of seat travel, then back to the mid-point of the seat track travel.
- Loosen the 4 seat track-to-floor mounting bolts.
- Tighten the seat track-to-floor bolts in the correct sequence. Refer to SEAT SYSTEM - SEATS - Front in Removal and Installation for the torque sequence.
- Carry out the OCS Reset. Refer to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS) SYSTEM RESET .
- If the System Reset successfully completed, carry out the OCS ZERO SEAT WEIGHT TEST . Refer to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS) SYSTEM ZERO SEAT WEIGHT TEST .
Did the system reset pass?
- Yes : Fault corrected. GO to AH4 .
- No : INSTALL a new passenger seat track assembly with OCS weight sensor bolts. REFER to SEAT SYSTEM - SEATS . GO to AH4 .
AH4 CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL SRS DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - Restraints.
  NOTE: When selecting Restraints from the Self Test menu, DTCs are retrieved from the RCM and OCSM .
Are any RCM and/or OCSM DTCs retrieved on-demand during self-test?
- Yes : Do not clear any DTCs until all DTCs have been resolved. GO to the DTC CHARTS for pinpoint test direction.
- No : CLEAR all RCM and OCSM CMDTCs . PROVE OUT the SRS . The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.
