Normal Operation

The OCSM  monitors each OCS  weight sensor bolt for correct calibration/weight and identification. When the OCSM  detects a fault from any of the 4 sensors or if an OCS  component has been installed new, it stores a DTC in memory and sends a message to the RCM  .

When the RCM  receives a fault message from the OCSM  , it stores DTC B00A0:09 in memory and send a message to the IPC  to illuminate the airbag warning indicator.

DTC DESCRIPTION

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
B00A0:54 Occupant Classification System: Missing Calibration A fault is indicated when the OCSM  senses a calibration from one or more weight sensor bolt(s) that is not stored in memory. A new OCS  component installed in the vehicle also sets this DTC.
B00A0:76 Occupant Classification System: Wrong Mounting Position A fault is indicated when the OCSM  senses signals from weight sensor bolt(s) that are not the correct values for their position on the seat track. Sensors that are not connected correctly can set this DTC.
B00C2:49 Passenger Seat Occupant Classification Sensor "C": Internal Electronic Failure The OCSM  determines sensor "C" is clamped high or clamped low. A fault is indicated when the OCSM  measures sensor output to be between 4.375 volts and 4.85 volts (sensor is clamped high) or when measured sensor output voltage is between 0.15 to 0.625 volt (sensor is clamped low). A faulted sensor, passenger seat not installed correctly or bent or binding passenger seat track can set this DTC.
B00C3:49 Passenger Seat Occupant Classification Sensor "D": Internal Electronic Failure The OCSM  determines sensor "D" is clamped high or clamped low. A fault is indicated when the OCSM  measures sensor output to be between 4.375 volts and 4.85 volts (sensor is clamped high) or when measured sensor output voltage is between 0.15 to 0.625 volt (sensor is clamped low). A faulted sensor, passenger seat not installed correctly or bent or binding passenger seat track can set this DTC.
