Shock Absorber: Installation

  1. NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt at this time.

    Position the shock absorber and loosely install the new shock absorber lower bolt and nut.

  2. Remove the jackstand.
  3. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
  4. With the weight of the vehicle on the wheel and tire, tighten the shock absorber lower nut to 225 Nm (166 lb-ft).
  5. Install the new shock absorber upper nuts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  6. Install the quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
