Valve Springs: Installation

  1. NOTE: Check the seating of the valve collet.

    Install the valve spring and the valve spring retainer.

    • Compress the valve spring and install the valve collet using some grease and a small screwdriver.

  2. Disconnect the compressed air supply.
  3. Repeat the appropriate removal and installation steps for all of the other cylinders.
  4. Install the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION - 2.0L GTDI .
  5. Install the valve tappets. For additional information, refer to VALVE TAPPETS  .
