Pinpoint Test AZ: U0412:82

AZ1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes : GO to AZ2
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
AZ2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the network test.
Does the BECM pass the network test?
- Yes : GO to AZ3
- No : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
AZ3 PERFORM THE RECORDED GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the GWM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
- No : GO to AZ4
AZ4 PERFORM THE RECORDED BECM (BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BECM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
- No : GO to AX5
AZ5 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
- No : GO to AZ6
AZ6 RECHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI), or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0412:82 still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new GWM .
  REFER to: GATEWAY MODULE A (GWM) .
  
  GO to AZ7
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
AZ7 CHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U0401:82 WITH A NEW GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) INSTALLED
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0401:82 still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new BECM.
  REFER to: BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE (BECM) - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
  
  CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the IPC self-test. If DTC U0412:82 is still present, INSTALL a new IPC .
  
  REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The GWM corrected the concern.
