Pinpoint Test AQ: The Perimeter Alarm Chime Is Inoperative
- AQ1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AQ2
- No
: INSTALL a new IPC
.
REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AQ2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM
- Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking feature (key fob).
- Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.
- Open the driver door using the interior door handle.
Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AQ3
- No : REFER to: PERIMETER ANTI-THEFT ALARM .
- AQ3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
- No : GO to AQ4
- AQ4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
- No
: INSTALL a new BCM
