Pinpoint Test Am: The Electric Vehicle Engine Off Warning Chime Is Inoperative
- AM1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AM2
- No
: INSTALL a new IPC
.
REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AM2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
- No : GO to AM3
- AM3 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
- No : GO to AM3
- AM4 PERFORM THE SOBDMC (HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SOBDMC self-test.
Are any transmission range Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
- No
: DIAGNOSE all BCM
