Pinpoint Test B: A Virtual Gauge Is Inoperative

B1 VERIFY THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) IS SET TO DISPLAY THE GAUGE
- Ignition ON.
- NOTE: The IPC and message center navigation can be found in the Owner's Literature.
  
  Using the message center controls, make sure the IPC is set to display the gauge in question.
Is the IPC set to display the gauge?
- Yes : GO to B2
- No : The virtual gauge is operating correctly. The IPC was not set to display the gauge in question.
B2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
- No : For the tachometer, GO to B3
  For the high voltage battery gauge, GO to B5
  
  For the accessory power gauge, brake coach gauge, integrated power or split power gauge, GO to B6
B3 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KEY ON ENGINE OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
- No : GO to B4
B4 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
- No : GO to B7
B5 PERFORM THE BECM (BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BECM self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the BECM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
- No : GO to B7
B6 PERFORM THE SOBDMC (HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SOBDMC self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the SOBDMC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (HYBRID) .
- No : GO to B7
B7 PERFORM THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the GWM self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the GWM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC .
  REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
