Pinpoint Test L : C2007:13, C2008:13

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. L1 CHECK FOR OTHER EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB module self-test.
    • Retrieve and record all EPB module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Is DTC U3003:16 also present?

Yes  DIAGNOSE DTC U3003:16 before diagnosing DTC C2007:13 or C2008:13. GO to Pinpoint Test A
No  If DTC C2007:13 or C2008:13 are the only Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present, GO to  L2
For all other EPB module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), GO to the DTC Chart: Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Module .
  2. L2 CHECK THE EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect EPB module C3675 .
    • Remove BJB fuses 57 (30A) and 58 (30A).
    • For DTC C2007:13, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C3675-20

      BJB Fuse 57 Output Cavity
    • For DTC C2008:13, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C3675-21

      BJB Fuse 58 Output Cavity

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

    Yes  GO to  L3
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  3. L3 CHECK THE EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    • For DTC C2007:13, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C3675-20

      Ground
    • For DTC C2008:13, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C3675-21

      Ground

Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?

    Yes  GO to  L4
No  REPAIR the circuit and INSTALL new BJB fuses as necessary.
  4. L4 VERIFY ALL WIRING CONNECTIONS

    • Disconnect all in-line electrical connectors between the BJB and the EPB module.
    • Using a good light source, inspect all connectors (including BJB fuse 57 socket and fuse 58 socket) for the following:
      • corrosion - install new connector or terminal and clean the module pins
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals or pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
      • spread terminals - install new terminals as necessary

Are the connectors free of corrosion, damaged pins, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals?

    Yes  GO to  L5
No  REPAIR the connector or terminals. Refer to Connector Repair Procedures for schematic and connector information.
  5. L5 CHECK FOR CORRECT EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE OPERATION

    • Connect all in-line connectors between the BJB and the EPB module. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Install BJB fuses 57 (30A) and 58 (30A).
    • Connect EPB module C3675 . Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB module self-test.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the EPB module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB module self-test.

Does DTC C2007:13 or C2008:13 return?

Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new EPB module. REFER to: Parking Brake Module .
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
