Belt-Minder® Deactivating/Activating: Preparation

NOTE: The Belt-minder® can also be deactivated/activated using a scan tool.
  1. Before deactivating/activating the Belt-Minder®, apply the parking brake.
  2. Place the gearshift in the PARK (P) position (automatic transmission) or the NEUTRAL (N) position (manual transmission).
  3. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  4. Close all the vehicle doors.
  5. Unbuckle the driver and passenger safety belts.
  6. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
