Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS): Removal

- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview

- 2.
If equipped, remove the bolts, turn the 1/4 turn retainer and remove the transmission shield.

NOTE:
Vehicles are equipped with either a skid plate or a splash shield.

If equipped, remove the bolts and the skid plate.

If equipped, remove the pushpins, the bolts and the splash shield.

- 5.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

- 6.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube quick connect couplings.Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

- 7.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes bracket-to-engine nut.

Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes bracket-to-transmission nut.

- 9.
NOTE:
4WD shield shown in illustration, 2WD shield similar.
Remove the nut and the heat shield.

Remove and discard the studbolt and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
