Transmission Fluid Cooler Supply Tube - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS): Removal

1.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

2.

Remove the transmission fluid cooler supply tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler supply tube quick connect fitting.

Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

4.

Remove the supply and return tube bracket bolt.
Torque

: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

5.

Remove the air cleaner. REFER to: AIR CLEANER .

6.

Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler return tube retainer from the transmission fluid cooler supply tube bracket and remove the bracket bolt.
Torque

: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

7.

Remove the LH headlamp assembly. REFER to: Headlamp Assembly .

8.

Remove the pushpins and the radiator site shield.

Remove the pushpins and the LH air deflector.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

NOTE: Vehicles without auxiliary transmission fluid cooler shown in illustration, vehicle with auxiliary transmission fluid cooler similar.

Release the clamp, disconnect and remove the transmission fluid cooler supply tube.
