Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S): Removal

Right hand (RH) Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 

  1. 1.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

  1. 2.

    If equipped, remove the underbody shield.

  1. 3.

    Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  1. 4.

    Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S.

    Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.

    Material

    : Penetrating and Lock Lubricant / XL-1

Left hand (LH) Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 

  1. 5.

    Remove the engine appearance cover.

  1. 6.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  1. 7.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

  1. 8.

    If equipped, remove the underbody shield.

  1. 9.

    Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S.

    Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.
