P2457 - Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR) Cooler System Performance

P2457 - EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) COOLER SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the EGR cooler outlet temperature for an under cooling condition or an over cooling condition. This DTC sets when the difference between the expected EGR gas temperature and the actual EGRT sensor value is greater than a calibrated amount.
Possible Causes: 
  • Secondary cooling system restriction or low coolant
  • Charge air cooler (CAC) restriction
  • EGR cooler restriction
  • Biased exhaust gas recirculation temperature (EGRT) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All GO to PINPOINT TEST AZ .
