P050E - COLD START ENGINE EXHAUST TEMPERATURE TOO LOW
| Description: The powertrain control module (PCM) calculates the actual oxidation catalytic converter (OC) warm up temperature during a cold start. The PCM then compares the actual OC temperature to the expected OC temperature model. The difference between the actual and expected temperatures is a ratio. When this ratio exceeds the calibrated value this DTC sets and the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates. | |||
Possible Causes:

| Diagnostic Aids: This DTC sets when 1 or more EGT sensors indicate a value outside a calibrated threshold when compared to the catalyst temperature model. The PCM compares the values from the AAT, IAT, and EGT sensors to the catalyst temperature model. | |||
