P0116 - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE
| Description: This DTC indicates that an engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor range performance concern has been detected. The DTC sets when the vehicle has been driven above 1, 250 RPM without the ECT sensor signal increasing above 70°C (158°F). The time to set the concern depends on the engine coolant and intake air temperatures and can vary between 20 and 60 minutes. | |||
Possible Causes:

| Diagnostic Aids: Make sure the intake air and engine coolant temperatures are similar when the engine is cold. Make sure the ECT sensor and the actual engine operating temperatures are the same. | |||
