Turbocharger LH: Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- 2. NOTE: Apply high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant to the turbocharger exhaust flange studbolt threads prior to installation of the turbocharger exhaust flange.
Install the turbocharger exhaust flange and the new turbocharger exhaust flange studbolts. Tighten the new turbocharger exhaust flange studbolts.
Material
: High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant / XL-2
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Inspect the turbocharger coolant supply tube-to-engine block fitting and replace as needed.Torque
: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)
- 5.
Inspect the turbocharger coolant tube-to-turbocharger fittings and replace as needed. Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
- 6.
Place the turbocharger in the vehicle. Connect the turbocharger coolant tube to the turbocharger fitting.
- 7.
Install and tighten the new turbocharger mounting bolts, install the turbocharger coolant supply tube to the block fitting while installing the turbocharger.Torque
: 24 lb.ft (32 Nm)
- 9. NOTE: Install the turbocharger oil tube manifold assembly upper bolts finger tight at the turbocharger oil tube manifold assembly. Tighten in the sequence shown.

Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube manifold bolt.Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- 2.
Tighten the inner turbocharger oil tube manifold bolt.Torque:
Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: 30°
- 3.
Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube manifold bolt.Torque:
Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: 30°

Install, then tighten the turbocharger coolant supply tube and turbocharger oil feed tube retaining bolt.Torque:
Stage 1: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
Stage 2: 30°
- 12.
Inspect the turbocharger coolant return tube fitting and replace as needed.Torque
: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- 15.
Install the turbocharger outlet tube, insert the turbocharger outlet tube into the turbocharger outlet tube bracket grommet. Tighten the turbocharger outlet tube clamp.Torque
: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)
- 16.
Install the turbocharger inlet tube and insert the turbocharger inlet tube into the turbocharger inlet tube bracket grommet. Tighten the turbocharger inlet tube clamp.Torque
: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)
- 17.
Connect the quick release couplings and the turbocharger bypass tube. REFER to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .

Connect the PCV pressure sensor electric connector.
- 2.
Install the PCV tube. Connect the PCV tube quick connect couplings. REFER to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .

Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. REFER to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
- 20.
Install the LHF fender splash shield. REFER to: Fender Splash Shield .
- 21.
Install the LHF wheel and tire. REFER to: Wheel and Tire .
- 22.
If equipped, install the skid plate or splash shield, then install and tighten the bolts.Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- 23.
If equipped, install the transmission housing cover, then install and tighten the retainers.Torque
: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- 24.
Fill the cooling system. REFER to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
