High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

1.

Inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket as needed.

Apply 8 mm dots of sealant to the camshaft bearing cap and cylinder head seam as shown in illustration.
Material

: Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)

3.

Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts in the following 2 stages.
Torque:

Stage 1: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

Stage 2: 45°

Attach the wiring harness retainers to the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts.

5.

Install the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
