Coolant Crossover Manifold: Removal

1.

Drain the cooling system. REFER to: Cooling System Draining and Vacuum Filling .

2.

Remove the intake manifold. REFER to: INTAKE MANIFOLD (303-01C Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS), Removal and Installation).

3.

Disconnect the coolant hose.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

NOTE: Do not allow the coolant inlet pipe to come out of thermostat housing or the coolant inlet pipe O-ring seal may be damaged.

NOTE: Use the ear on the top of the coolant inlet pipe to prevent the coolant pipe from coming out of the thermostat housing.

Remove the bolts and the coolant crossover manifold.

5.

Remove and discard the gaskets.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
