Block Heater: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- 1.
Drain the cooling system. REFER to: Cooling System Draining and Vacuum Filling .
- 2.
Remove the front LH wheel and tire. REFER to: Wheel and Tire .
- 3.
Remove the air cleaner. REFER to: AIR CLEANER .
- 4.
Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. REFER to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
- 5.
- Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube quick release coupling.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube quick release coupling.
- Disconnect the turbocharger bypass tube quick release coupling.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Loosen the clamp and remove the turbocharger inlet hose.
Torque
: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)
- 6.NOTE: Access the block heater from the inner fender well.NOTE: Make sure the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components.
Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.
