Intake Manifold: Installation

- 2.NOTE: If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris is found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.
Using new gaskets, install the intake manifold and the bolts.
Torque
: Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) Stage 2: 45 °

- Position the vacuum solenoid assembly and install the retaining plate and pin-type retainer.
- Connect the vacuum hose.
- 4.
- Install the EVAP purge solenoid and stud bolt.
Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Connect the EVAP purge solenoid and MAPT sensor electrical connectors and wiring harness retainer.
- Install the EVAP purge solenoid and stud bolt.
- 6.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube to the intake manifold. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .
- Install the vacuum hose and clamp. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- 7.
Rotate and connect the PCV tube to the intake manifold. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .
- 10.
Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
- 13.
Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
