Valve Cover LH: Installation

NOTE: Installation of new seals is only required if damaged seals were removed.

Using the special tools, install new spark plug tube seals. Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 303-1247 VCT Spark Plug Tube Seal Remover and Installer.

Install a new gasket.

NOTE: If the valve cover is not installed and the fasteners tightened within 10 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned.

Apply an 8 mm (0.31 in) bead of Motorcraft ® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone to the engine front cover-to-cylinder head joints.

Install the valve cover and tighten the bolts.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

5.

Install the bracket and the nuts.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the oil level indicator.

7.

Install the LH coil-on-plugs. Refer to: IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG

8.

Connect the VCT and CMP sensor electrical connectors.

  Attach the vacuum hose retainers.

  Connect the vacuum hose retaining clip.
1. 3.
  
  Install the TC control solenoid and the bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors.
1. 5.
  
  Connect the TC vacuum supply hose.

  Connect the PCV tube quick release coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING

  Connect the crankcase pressure sensor electrical connector.

  Position the vacuum harness pressure sensor and install the bolt.

  : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.

  Attach the wiring harness and vacuum harness retainers.

Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and retainers.

Install the engine appearance cover bracket and the bolts.
Torque

: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  Slide the EVAP purge valve onto the intake manifold mounting tab.

  Connect the EVAP purge valve electrical connector.

  Connect the EVAP tube quick release coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING

Install the following items:
- Refer to: THROTTLE BODY
- LH CAC intake pipe. Refer to: CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) INTAKE PIPE .
- Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE LH .
- Refer to: AIR CLEANER .

17.

  Slide the engine appearance cover into the retaining bracket.

  Install the nuts.
  Torque
  
  : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
