Cylinder Head RH: Removal

NOTE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- 2.
Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE
- 3.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- 4.
Remove the following items:- Refer to: Intake Manifold .
- Refer to: Camshaft RH .
- Refer to: Turbocharger RH .

Reposition the CKP sensor electrical connector insulator.
- 2.
Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- 3.
Remove the studbolt and the wiring harness ground.
- 1.

Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- 2.NOTE: Do not pry the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector behind the bracket. If necessary, use gripping pliers to pull the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector from the cylinder head.
Remove the bolt and the cylinder head to coolant outlet connector hose assembly.

- Loosen the fuel rail-to-fuel rail high-pressure fuel tube flare nuts.
- Remove and discard the high-pressure fuel tube.
- 11.
- Clean and inspect the cylinder head-to-cylinder block mating surfaces of both the cylinder head and the cylinder block.
