Pinpoint Test D : B1987, B1991, B2275: Notes
Refer to ADJUSTABLE PEDAL for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The adjustable pedal control switch receives fused battery voltage from BCM fuse 31 (15A). When the switch is pressed, the voltage is sent to the DSM which responds by sending a voltage to the adjustable pedal motor. The voltage returns to the DSM where it is grounded. The DSM uses a Hall-effect switch in the adjustable pedal motor to identify the current pedal position.
When 1 or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) is set, the adjustable pedals enter a "jog mode". When the pedals are in jog mode, the memory system recall does not function from the RKE transmitter or the memory set switch buttons. When in jog mode and the adjustable pedal control switch is pressed, the motor moves the pedals for one second in the direction selected regardless of the length of time the switch is actually pressed.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B1987 | Pedal Forward / Rearward Motor Stalled | This DTC is only set during a DSM on-demand self test. During the self test, the adjustable pedal motor is commanded to move forward and then rearward. If the motor encounters a hard stop while moving, the DSM attempts to move the pedals in the opposite direction. If the DSM does not see any pedal movement via the Hall-effect switch during this attempt, DTC B1987 is set and the adjustable pedal system is disabled |
| B1991 | Pedal Forward / Rearward Potentiometer Feedback Circuit Short to Battery | This DTC sets in continuous memory or on demand if the DSM detects battery voltage on the Hall-effect switch feedback circuit. |
| B2275 | Pedal Forward / Rearward Potentiometer Feedback Circuit Short to Ground | This DTC sets in continuous memory or on demand if the DSM detects a short to ground on the Hall-effect switch feedback circuit. |
