Axle Shaft: Removal

  1. 1.

    Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheels and Tires .

  1. 2.

    Remove the rear brake disc. Refer to: Brake Disc .

  1. 3.

    Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt and position aside the wheel speed sensor.

    Torque

    : 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  1. 4.

    Remove the differential housing cover. Refer to: Differential Housing Cover .

  1. 5.

    • Remove and discard the differential pinion shaft locking bolt.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    • Remove the differential pinion shaft.

  1. 6.

    • Slide the axle shaft inward.
    • Remove the axle shaft retaining washer.
