HD Radio® (If Equipped)

HD Radio® is a free to the public digital radio broadcast. HD Radio® channels duplicate certain analog FM channels, and some subdivide (multicast) the digital signal into multiple channels that do not have analog equivalents.

The AM/FM fender-mounted antenna receives radio waves containing data (station call letters, artist names, song titles, etc.) and digital HD Radio® audio. The radio waves are sent through the AM/FM antenna coaxial cable to the ACM where the data is separated from the audio. The data is sent to be displayed on the centerstack infotainment display, and the audio is converted into fluctuating AC voltage and sent as left and right analog audio signals to the audio DSP module. The audio DSP module processes the audio signals and sends them to the speakers as fluctuating AC voltage.
