Symptom Chart - General Audio System

SYMPTOM CHART - GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • A module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals, or connectors
  • Module
  • The RH  steering wheel controls are inoperative or do not operate correctly
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The CD player is inoperative or does not operate correctly
  • CD
  • ACM 
  • INSPECT the CD for scratches, fingerprints, a loose paper label, incorrect format, or damage. INSERT a known good CD and TEST the system. If the system operates correctly, the concern was caused by a damaged CD. If the system does not operate correctly, INSTALL a new ACM  . REFER to AUDIO CONTROL MODULE (ACM) .
  • The speed compensated volume does not operate correctly
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The compass is inoperative
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The FCIM  illumination is inoperative or does not dim
  • Illumination system concern
  • FCIM 
  • The audio system does not operate correctly from the FCIM 
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The FCDIM  is inoperative or does not operate correctly
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • One or more FCDIM  displays are inoperative or do not operate correctly
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The FCDIM  illumination is inoperative or does not dim
  • Illumination system concern
  • FCDIM
