Removal and Installation

NOTE: Clean off any dirt or foreign material that may have collected around the wheel speed sensor before removal to prevent contamination of the axle lubricant. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the rear axle.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
    3. NOTE: The wheel speed sensor is constructed from plastic, excessive force may damage the wheel speed sensor.
  3. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt and the sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
