Normal Operation

The Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) monitors each Occupant Classification System (OCS) weight sensor bolt for correct calibration/weight and identification. When the OCSM detects a fault from either of the 2 sensors or if an OCS component has been installed new, it stores a DTC in memory and sends a message to the Restraints Control Module (RCM).
When the RCM receives a fault message from the OCS , it stores DTC B00A0:09 in memory and sends a message to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to illuminate the air bag warning indicator.

A fault is indicated when the OCSM senses a calibration from one or both weight sensor bolt(s) that is not stored in memory. A new OCS component installed in the vehicle also sets this DTC. |

A fault is indicated when the OCSM senses signals from weight sensor bolt(s) that are not the correct values for their position on the seat track. Sensors that are not connected correctly can set this DTC. |

A fault is indicated when the OCSM measures sensor output to be between 4.375 volts and 4.85 volts (sensor is limited or clamped high) or when the measured sensor output voltage is between 0.15 to 0.625 volt (sensor is limited or clamped low). A faulted sensor, passenger seat not installed correctly or bent or binding passenger seat track also sets this DTC. |

- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Passenger seat track assembly
