Removal and Installation

Dual Rear Wheels (DRW) brake disc 

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
    2. NOTE: The brake disc is part of the wheel hub on all DRW axle applications.
  2. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly. For additional information on the Dana axle, refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE - DANA . For additional information on the Ford axle, refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE - FORD .
  3. Remove the brake disc-to-wheel hub bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 121 Nm (89 lb-ft).

    Single Rear Wheel (SRW) brake disc 

    4. NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
  4. Remove the anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
    • Support the caliper and anchor plate using mechanic's wire.
    • To install, tighten to 275 Nm (203 lb-ft).
  5. Separate the brake disc from the hub.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
