Oil Cooler: Installation

  1. Align the oil cooler to the oil filter adapter and install the oil cooler insert bolt.
    • Tighten to 58 Nm (43 lb-ft).

  2. Connect the oil cooler coolant hoses.
    • Remove the hose clamp pliers.

  3. NOTE: Do not lubricate the engine oil filter gasket.

    Install a new engine oil filter.

    • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) and then rotate an additional 180 degrees.
  4. If equipped, position the air deflector and fasten the 4 retainers. Install the skid plate cover.

  5. Install the ACL  outlet pipe and the LH ACL  -to-turbocharger pipe. For additional information, refer to Intake Air System Components - Exploded View, 3.5L GTDI  in INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
  6. Inspect and adjust the coolant level in the degas bottle.
  7. Inspect and adjust the engine oil level.
