Lower Arm: Installation

All vehicles

NOTE: SVT Raptor: Do not tighten the shock absorber lower nut, lower arm forward nut or lower arm rearward nut until the installation procedure is complete and the weight of the vehicle is resting on the wheel and tire assemblies.

NOTE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the suspension loaded or with the weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires, otherwise incorrect clamp load and bushing damage may occur.

Finger tight at this stage.
- Tighten to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).
SVT Raptor
Finger tight at this stage.
NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.
- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
All except SVT Raptor
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.
- Tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
All vehicles
Use a suitable jack to raise the suspension until the distance between the center of the hub and the lip of the fender is equal to the measurement taken during removal (curb height).
- Tighten to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
SVT Raptor
- Tighten to 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).
All vehicles
Install the wheel and tire. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
Check and, if necessary, align the front end. Refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
