Removal and Installation

WARNING:
All safety belt components must be inspected and corrected as part of any collision repair. Inspect all safety belt components as prescribed by SAFETY BELT INSPECTION AND REPAIR AFTER A COLLISION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in incorrect operation of the safety belt system and increase the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
WARNING:
Always tighten the child safety seat tether anchor/bolt to specification. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the child's safety seat being incorrectly secured, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death to the child in a sudden stop or crash.
- For Crew Cab vehicles , fold the rear seat backrest down. For additional information, refer to Seat - Rear, Crew Cab, 60 Percent or Seat - Rear, Crew Cab, 40 Percent in the Removal and Installation portion of SEATING .
- For Super Cab vehicles , remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to appropriate steps in Seat - Rear, Super Cab in the Removal and Installation portion of SEATING .
- For regular cab vehicles , fold the seat backrest down, remove the 3 pin-type retainers and position the rear sound insulator aside.
- Remove the tether anchor bolt(s) and tether anchor(s).
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
