Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor - Primary Cooling System: Removal

  1. NOTE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be damaged.

    Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

  2. Drain the engine primary cooling system. For additional information refer to ENGINE COOLING - DIESEL ENGINES .
  3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) electrical connector.
  4. Remove the ECT sensor.
