Outside Air Temperature Display

The outside air temperature is displayed in the message center. The ambient air temperature sensor is hardwired to the PCM through separate input and return circuits. The PCM messages the raw ambient air temperature data to the HVAC module through the BCM. The HVAC module interprets the raw data and sends the outside air temperature value to the message center. The outside air temperature display can be reset by pressing the A/C and RECIRC buttons at the same time and releasing, followed by a single press of the A/C button within 2 seconds. The reset procedure enables the raw data from the ambient air temperature sensor to be displayed in the message center bypassing the interpretation process carried out by the HVAC module. After the outside air temperature reset has been carried out, the system begins updating through the normal interpretation and update procedure.
