Removal and Installation

All vehicles 

1. Remove the headlamps. For additional information, REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
2. Remove the 6 front bumper cover-to-front fender bolts.
   • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
NOTE: Any time the bumper cover-to-bumper bracket bolts are loosened or removed, new bolts must be installed.
3. Remove and discard the 2 bumper cover-to-bumper bracket bolts.
   • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

   Except F-150 SVT Raptor 

4. Remove the 10 front bumper cover-to-bumper cover bracket pin-type retainers.

   F-150 SVT Raptor 

5. Remove the 8 front bumper cover-to-bumper cover bracket pin-type retainers.

   Vehicles equipped with fender moldings 

6. Remove the fender moldings. For additional information, REFER to EXTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .

   All vehicles 

NOTE: The rearward portion of the front bumper cover must be pulled upward and outward to release it from the bumper cover brackets.
7. Remove the front bumper cover.
8. Inspect the bumper cover brackets for damage. If necessary, install new bumper cover brackets.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

• Install the 2 new bumper cover-to-bumper bolts and tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
