Removal and Installation

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, REFER to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .

NOTE: Remove the accessory drive belt to prevent coolant contamination of the belt.

Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, REFER to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- To install, rinse off any coolant from the accessory drive pulleys using clear water.

NOTE: Cover the A/C compressor drive belt to prevent coolant contamination of the belt.

Completely cover the A/C compressor drive belt with waterproof plastic.
If installing a new coolant inlet connection, release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose.
Remove the bolts and the coolant inlet connection.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Remove the thermostat and the O-ring seal.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Use a new O-ring seal and lubricate it with clean engine coolant.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
