Removal and Installation

- Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, REFER to DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE .
- Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
- Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt.
- To install, tighten the new bolt to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the steering wheel switches electrical connector from the clockspring.
- Remove the steering wheel while routing the wires from the clockspring through the steering wheel.
- Tape the clockspring center rotor to the outer housing to prevent it from rotating.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
