Pinpoint Test I: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE Transmitter

I1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock button from the driver door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
- Do the door locks operate correctly?
  - YES : GO to I2.
  - No : CHECK the symptom(s) and GO to Symptom Chart - Electrical .
I2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: BCM DataLogger.
- Select the BCM PID (HORN) and active command the horn on.
- Does the horn sound when commanded on?
  - YES : GO to I3.
  - No : REFER to HORN .
I3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Place the hazard switch in the ON position.
- Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?
  - Yes : For vehicles without remote start, REPLACE the inoperative IKT and PROGRAM the new IKT individually or PROGRAM all the IKTs. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) for the programming procedures. If all the IKTs are to be programmed, INFORM the customer that any IKTs not present need to be programmed. TEST the system for normal operation.
    For vehicles equipped with the factory remote start, GO to I4.
  - No : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
I4 VERIFY THE REMOTE START BUTTON
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: BCM DataLogger.
- Select the BCM PID (LST_RKE_xMTR) while pressing the remote start button on an IKT.
- Does the PID indicate the remote start button is being pressed?
  - YES : REFER to STARTING SYSTEM .
  - No : REPLACE the inoperative IKT and PROGRAM the new IKT individually or PROGRAM all the IKTs. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) for the programming procedures. If all the IKTs are to be programmed, INFORM the customer that any IKTs not present need to be programmed. TEST the system for normal operation.
