Torque Converter Clutch (TCC)

Condition	Possible Sources	Action
TCC does not apply	TCC solenoid mechanically stuck OFF	INSTALL a new TCC solenoid. Refer to: Shift Solenoids (SS) .
	Bypass Clutch Control Regulator Valve stuck OFF	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the regulator valve. If bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. Refer to: Main Control Valve Body . Refer to: Main Control Valve Body - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
	Converter Release Regulator Valve stuck OFF	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the regulator valve. If bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. Refer to: Main Control Valve Body . Refer to: Main Control Valve Body - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
	CAPLY, CREL, CAPLY F, VFS6 hydraulic circuit blocked or leaking	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the valves. If bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control. Refer to: Main Control Valve Body . Refer to: Main Control Valve Body - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
	TCC friction material worn or damaged	INSTALL a new TCC. Refer to: Transmission - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) . Refer to: Transmission - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS) . Refer to: Transmission - 3.5L Duratec (209kW/284PS) . Refer to: Transmission - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT .
TCC always applied/stalls vehicle	TCC solenoid mechanically stuck ON	INSTALL a new TCC solenoid. Refer to: Shift Solenoids (SS) .

TCC cycles, shudders or chatters	Incorrect Transmission Strategy programmed into PCM.	PERFORM the Transmission Strategy Download, REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
	TCC solenoid mechanically sticking	INSTALL a new solenoid. Refer to: Shift Solenoids (SS) . PERFORM the Transmission Strategy Download, REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
